David brings 25 years of enterprise software and SaaS leadership experience, alongside more than a decade in fire service, emergency response, and search and rescue. This unique experience enables him to connect advanced wildfire modeling with the real-world decisions required to plan, prioritize, and implement effective mitigation. David’s background strengthens XyloPlan’s ability to scale adoption while ensuring wildfire risk analytics translate into actionable, defensible, and field-ready solutions. He understands both how fire behavior modeling works and how mitigation decisions are made on the ground across jurisdictions, agencies, and land managers. That perspective is increasingly critical as wildfire risk accelerates, crosses boundaries, and challenges traditional planning approaches. “David brings a rare combination of go-to-market leadership and firsthand wildfire response experience,” said Scott Cheeseman, Co-Founder and CEO of XyloPlan. “As communities and insurers look for ways to turn wildfire risk insight into real-world mitigation, his perspective helps ensure our work stays grounded in how decisions are actually made and implemented.” At XyloPlan, David will focus on expanding market adoption, building trusted partnerships across the public and private sectors, and helping decision-makers prioritize mitigation strategies that meaningfully reduce catastrophic fire outcomes. “Wildfire risk is not an abstract problem,” David shared. “The right tools and forward-looking planning enable communities to reduce risk and protect lives, homes, and critical infrastructure.
